Hafiz Jawad Sohail

Hafiz Jawad Sohail (born in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1993) is a trained Climate Reality Leader & SDGs Advocate. He is a highly motivated, self-driven professional, possesses a background in Geoscience and having 05 years of working experience in multinational and private companies. He received his BS Hons. degree in Applied Geology from University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, in 2014 and is currently pursuing his Master of Public Administration from Virtual University of Pakistan.

Hafiz has a rich volunteering experience and works enthusiastically with world-class organizations to make change happen. He recently got selected as Country Coordinator for “The 16th UN Climate Change Conference of Youth” that will take place in Glasgow this year. He is also a member of YOUNGO (official youth constituency of UNFCCC) and UNEP MGCY Science & Policy Working Group.

Hafiz also completed his training on the Climate Reality Leadership Corps by Former US Vice President Al Gore’s program. He advocates and mentors for the Global Schools Program of SDSN Youth and writes on social issues. In 2019, Hafiz was nominated by CIVICUS and Action for Sustainable Development for UNLEASH Innovation Lab that was held in Shenzhen, China where he with his global team started developing a solution for Mental Health Care for refugees. He greatly values cross-cultural experiences and meeting new people from all parts of the world. Hafiz is also an alumnus of Global Thinkers Forum’s Telemachus Program and certified member & regional extern alumnus of World Youth Alliance.

Hafiz has diversified experience & insightful research skills with proactivity in every role assigned. He is always looking for potential opportunities and wants to grow his social network around the globe. He loves to work for the causes of human dignity, civil society strengthening, youth, peace, social change and environment. He believes that “Human Dignity is the only parameter on basis of which we claim equality in this world, it is intrinsic, not granted and doesn’t depend on social and economic status. He is in pursuit of a role where his energies will make an impact on surroundings. Hafiz aims to learn modern tools and skills to continue his struggle throughout his career.
