Hafiz Jawad Sohail is a sustainability practitioner, water & environment sector professional and climate champion pioneering new trends in youth and climate domain through his climate advocacy, youthful actionism and intergenerational leadership which instrumented youth mainstreaming in climate processes at the World Bank and their institutionalization in national action in his country.  

His leadership is hallmarked by his impactful journey spun over three consecutive years of nonstop policy advocacy, hardcore activism, and meaningful participation in the UN Climate Change Conferences and added capacity in COYs as national focal point for the official youth and children constituency of UNFCCC, that inspired youth action and mobilized vital national support through influencing climate agenda at COP27 and national debates after COP; also cornerstone of meaningful youth participation into climate processes and their representation as stakeholders in national action at COPs.  

He possesses a background in science-research-policy and environmental laws and a decade long history of working in development, climate and sustainability with organizations such as World-Wide Fund for Nature, Pakistan (WWF), and UN SDSN; a multidisciplinary experience shaping his approaches on sustainability and understanding about intersectionality of climate change. Hafiz’s reach is truly global; as US exchange alumni, Commonwealth Youth Climate Leader, Youth4Nature Global Ambassador, Climate Ambassador with Global Youth Climate Network and other sociocultural exchanges; transcended his influence beyond boundaries.

He recently co-founded “Climate Forward Pakistan”, a youth led entity which envisions to channelize the passion and energy of children and young people into meaningful climate action in his country. Truly, Hafiz personifies change, and Hafiz’s network, advocacy, and engagements intertwine to pave a path toward a more sustainable future.
